Winter Photo Tour incl. New Years Eve
Highlights: Professional Photographer guiding the tour, Northern Lights, winter landscapes, fireworks over Reykjavik, quality hotels, private New Year's Eve dinner with Haukur's friends and family at his home in Reykjavik
Day 1: Photographing Golden Circle
Haukur will pick you up at 09:00 hours from your accommodation in Reykjavik. We will leave to tour the famous Golden Circle and spend time on photographing National Park Thingvellir, the famous geothermal area Geysir and the majestic waterfall Gullfoss. Haukur knows all the best spots and timing considering the light so you get the most out of your photos. Due to the low sun around this time we enjoy interesting light conditions similar to the light around sunrise or sundown. In the late afternoon we drive to Hotel Rangá and unwind after dinner in the warm outdoor hot pots overlooking the country side.

Day 2: Photographing South Coast/ Northern Lights
With the beautiful Hotel Rangá as our base we will spend time today to photograph the unique and varied sights along the South Coast. Major sights include waterfall Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss but also more hidden treasures will be photographed that day. We return in the afternoon to the hotel to get a good rest as in the evening (around 21:00 hours) we will head for a Northern Light hunt* in the surroundings with Haukur explaining you on how is best to frame the Aurora Borealis. We are back at the hotel around 24:00 hours.
*In case of bad weather conditions we will go on a Northern Light hunt the next day or the day before.

Day 3: Photographing South Coast
Today we will photograph the black sands of the South Coast with Reynisdrangar, Vík, Dyrholaey and other interesting photo opportunities along the glacier Myrdalsjökull. We will also revisit photo locations from the day before if weather conditions are more favourable that day. We return to Hotel Rangá for a last night in the country side.

Day 4: New Years Eve in Reykjavik
We head towards Reykjavik with a slight detour to Reykjanes peninsula and a visit to the geothermal area Krýsuvík and the mystic settings of lake Kleifarvatn before heading into Reykjavik to check into your inviting and quality hotel Holt. Haukur will pick you up in the early evening and take you to his home place where Haukur‘s family and friends are welcoming you to join in for a homey New Year´s Eve dinner. In this last night together you can share your memories from the tour and hear stories from Iceland. Just before midnight we will leave Haukur‘s home to photograph the fireworks over Reykjavik. These fireworks are said to be the strongest in the world so prepare your cameras with plenty of „film“ and enjoy a truly unique New Year‘s Eve in Iceland.
