Glacier valley Thorsmörk
On our way to Thorsmörk Valley we drive through the districts where the best known Icelandic Sagas took place, as an option we can make a short stop at a local museum and get filled with information about the Sagas in that Area. We will be arriving in Thorsmörk Valley after driving through numerous rivers and creeks and passing the famouse volcano Eyjafjallajökull. There we can take short hikes in the beautiful area, even hike up to one of the glacier tongues of the magnificent glacier Eyjafjallajökull. We have the possibility to enjoy refreshments at the hut and take a digestive walk in the beautiful, wild-romantic surroundings of Basar in Thorsmörk. On the way back we visit among other things the spectacular gorge Stakkholtsgja and the picturesque waterfall Seljalandsfoss, which we can even walk around. Normally we're back in Reykjavik around 6 p.m.
NB: For lunch the group can bring their own lunch or the staff of Isafold Travel can either make a picnic lunch or BBQ lunch to add a little more to the tour.
