The three vehicles of Isafold Travel are mostly younger than year 2000 and are kept very well maintained in Isafold Travel's own vehicle garage, by the company's very caring and precise car mechanic, Þröstur Valdimarsson. This is not only made to reduce operating costs and eliminate unpleasant surprises from break-downs during trips, but also to maximize safety. All vehicles in Isafold's possession have Icelandic male names ending with –ur. The trailers for the luggage, and sometimes the provisions, on the other hand, have Icelandic female names ending in -a: Berta, Gústa, Klara, etc. The 4x4 Ford Econoline vans (3 cars) were all originally only 4x2 vehicles, but converted to four-wheel drive and raised to fit bigger tyres with good flotation, especially done for the snow here in Iceland.
