Thorsmörk Encounter

Our leading vehicle takes you in your self drive ISAK to the East, where we come to the black basalt sand shore in the south of glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Right here at the Atlantic Ocean we experience the enhanced driving ability with the partly deflated 38“ tires while driving on the black sands. We turn into the glacier valley Thorsmörk, named after Thor the Norse God of Thunder. After fording numerous glacier rivers we have BBQ Lunch at the remote hut Básar and enjoy the rest of the day exploring these adventurous surroundings. Towards the afternoon we leave this lovely rugged environment to move back into our capital Reykjavik where we arrive in the early evening.
