Changes in ownership at Isafold
As of 01. September 2009 changes have been made on the ownership structure and the management team of ISAFOLD TRAVEL and ISAK 4x4 Rental.
The changes include that ÍSAK, which specializes in the rental of modified 4x4 vehicles, will from now on be in full ownership of ISAFOLD Travel.
Mr. Sigfús Bjarni Sigfússon, who has been part-owner of ISAK, will be a shareholder in ISAFOLD. Mr. Sigfús Bjarni Sigfússon will manage the sales and marketing for both companies.
Mr. Ásgeir Eiríksson and Mr. Thomas Möller will also join the owner group which also includes the founders of ISAFOLD Ms. Audbjörg Bergsveinsdóttur and Mr. Jón Baldur Thorbjörnsson. Mr. Ásgeir Eiríksson has now been appointed the Managing Director of ISAFOLD Travel and ISAK. Mr. Thomas Möller is the Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Jón Baldur Þorbjörnsson will continue as a specialized guide for the company and work on various PR projects. Ms. Audbjörg Bergsveinsdottir will continue working part time as a cashier.
Mr. Henry Kröher has left the company to found his own travel company with Iceland as his main selling area. Henry will also work on various projects for ISAFOLD Travel abroad.
Other employees in the company headquarters in Gardabær Iceland are Mr. Gunnar Gunnarsson taking care of the car rental fleet, Ms. Hildur Ágústsdóttir travel consultant and Thröstur Valdimarsson mechanic in the garage.
ISAFOLD Travel was founded almost 15 years ago and specializes in private guided tours for small groups where each tour is operated with professional driver guides. The company has enjoyed a healthy growth through the years and a recent survey among its customers has shown a remarkable 98% satisfaction factor among it´s customers and 93% of the customers will recommend ISAFOLD Travel to their friends and family.
These changes are designed to strengthen both companies and enable them to serve their customers even better, both the travelers and the tour operators. Together the companies will serve a total of about 4000 customers in 2009.
