The dynamic tour operator Isafold Travel exists since 1997. From the beginning the internet has proved to be the best tool to communicate directly with our customers, offering direct and instant service. Isafold Travel is fully licensed by the Icelandic government and the company is a member of SAF, the Icelandic Travel Industry Association.

The name Isafold means "Ice field", a poetic name for Iceland.

The owners

 Isafold Travel was founded in 1997 by Jon Baldur Þorbjörnsson and his wife Auðbjörg Bergsveinsdóttir, with the aim to offer quality tours and personal service to small groups. In 2008 the sister company and a specialized 4x4 rental Isak ltd. was started with the co-operation of Sigfus B. Sigfusson.  In 2009 a new owner joined Isafold Travel, Sigfús B. Sigfússon, manager and part owner of the car rental Hertz Iceland.  Auðbjörg is the director of finances. Jón Baldur (Dipl.-Ing. Fahrzeugtechnik from FH-Munic) is the Managing Director of Isafold Travel.

The location

Isafold Travel is located in Garðabær, a suburb of the southern Reykjavík Area. The building where we work is divided into the travel office on the upper floor where we tailor and arrange your trips, and a maintenance hall on the ground floor where we work on the vehicles of the company and keep them in top condition.
